Standards-Aligned Diagnostic Test Procedures from Pro-Core
Pro-Core delivers assessments aligned to the state's New Learning Standards. Pro-Core is a web-based assessment and learning tool designed to help teachers prepare students for success on state tests in Reading, Math, Social Studies and Science as well as specific non-state tested subjects.
Using Pro-Core: An Instructional Sequence
- Students Take the Pre-Test
Students are given a diagnostic formative test at the beginning of the school year. Each subject area test takes about 1 to 1½ hours.
- Student Responses scored and Reports delivered
Online tests are immediately scored, and special Diagnostic Reports are delivered within days. The reports include teacher class and individual student results.
- Students begin work based on Class Rankings
Students start working on individual, standards-focused web lessons or other activities individually prescribed by the teacher.
- Teacher updates class Grouping and student Intervention reports
The teacher charts class and individual student progress toward proficiency goals.
- Students take Interim/On-Track Tests
Interim tests are given mid-year to measure learning progress and readiness for the state-administered Summative Tests.
- Students take the Post-Test
End-of Course tests are given later in the year to measure student growth and teacher effectiveness (SG-TE) in off-grade subjects.
