New Client Professional Development Webinar Series
For new clients, we have a series of three Zoom meetings designed to provide new users with the information they need, at the specific time they need it. Sessions are designed to give teachers opportunities to ask questions as well as time to use their own computers and logins to explore Pro-Core during the training.
Session 1: Getting Started (1½ hour)
This session is best scheduled after enrollment is completed for Pro-Core and before teachers give the first assessment. They will start the session with a demo student login. Then they will login to the system using their account information and set up the first assessment for their classes.
Teachers will learn how to:
- use the Form tests and Short Cycle Web Assessments as an integrated whole to promote and monitor student learning
- navigate the system as a student
- explore types of questions
- use accessibility features
- experience instant scoring feature
- view first assessment students will take
- navigate the system as a teacher
- explore tabs available for teachers
- activate tests for students,
- enable accommodations for students,
- see which students still need to complete the tests, and
- view individual student results
- get help when needed
Session 2: Results and Reports from Individual Assessments (1½ hour)
This session is best scheduled shortly after teachers give the Form A assessments to their students so they can view reports from their classes. During this session, teachers would have time to ask questions about implementing what they learned in the first session.
Teachers will learn how to:
- set up and utilize the Short Cycle Web Assessments (SCWA),
- design their own formative assessments using the Teacher Personalized Assessment (TPA) platform
- access and interpret class data from assessments
- identify and interpret patterns and trends
- use data to inform future instruction
- project questions to encourage in-depth discussions that promote learning.
- use Pro-Core scores to predict state results and determine which students may benefit from interventions.
Session 3: Tracking student and class progress over time (1 hour)
This session is best scheduled during the second semester, after students have taken their second Form test. During this session, teachers would have time to ask questions about implementing what they learned previously.
Teachers will learn how to:
- access and interpret reports that track individual students’ progress over time,
- access and interpret reports that track growth measures for their classes, and
- use data to set intervention plans for students and improvement goals for the following school year.
